Cognitive Medical Systems Secures 8 Federal Contracts in Q3 2015
SAN DIEGO – October 16, 2015 – Cognitive Medical Systems, a specialist in standards-based Clinical Decision Support (CDS) software, announced today that it secured 8 new or renewed federal agency contracts last quarter.
The total year-to-date sales now sits at $17 million, almost double that for all of last year.
“We are proud to be the go-to resource for federal CDS evaluation and implementation,” said Emory Fry, MD, Cognitive Medical Systems CEO. “We remain committed to driving national standards development, which is key to widespread real-time clinical decision support adoption.”
While the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) renewed several agreements with Cognitive Medical Systems this year, the company continues to diversify its customer base, most notably with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD); Cognitive is on the Leidos/Cerner team for the DoD Healthcare Management System Modernization IDIQ. The company also secured its first Prime Contract—the VA’s Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Gap Analysis project.
Other partnerships include HealthNet, Technatomy, Booz Allen Hamilton, Hokukahu, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and ASM Research, an Accenture Federal Services Company.
“We’re not only creating custom CDS platforms for these organizations, but also scheduled to release our second turnkey product for healthcare and government organizations in the first quarter of 2016,” said President Douglas W. Burke of Cognitive Medical Systems. “We’re actively expanding our operations to make this happen and are in the market for software developers to add to our team. It’s a great opportunity for anyone wanting to join a fast growing company and to positively impact the lives of patients.”
