Cognitive Medical Systems Teams with Book Zurman on $20.7 Million VA Integrated Health Standards Task

Cognitive Medical Systems, a specialist in standards-based clinical decision support software and healthcare IT infrastructure, announced today it has teamed with Book Zurman on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) $20.7 million Integrated Health Standards indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide subject matter expertise, policy guidance, and strategic recommendations regarding health standards implementation for Knowledge Based Systems within the VA Office of Informatics and Analytics.

In addition to Cognitive, the team includes Deloitte, Booz Allen Hamilton, BITS, JP Systems, and Leidos. It will be responsible for engaging VA project teams to validate technical specifications and business requirements to ensure that VA’s needs are met and health standards are properly implemented; working with business owners to establish well-defined requirements, select appropriate standards, and constrain them accordingly to meet VA clinical use cases; and making recommendations to external VA offices and teams on how to integrate standards and information models into current and planned activities.
