Cognitive Medical Systems to present their Quality Measure Checklist CDS application at the Society for Technology in Anesthesia Conference

January 11, 2018

Cognitive Medical Systems, a specialist in standards-based Clinical Decision Support (CDS) software and healthcare IT infrastructure, will be presenting their Quality Measure Checklist application running on the CORA platform at the Society for Technology in Anesthesia (STA) in Miami through Saturday.

“We’re excited to present our work at the STA conference. The conference focuses on how technology can improve anesthesia care delivery and I believe we’re answering that call with the Quality Measure Checklist application.” says Dr. Rocky Reston, CMIO and Anesthesiologist for Cognitive Medicine. “We’ve used the CORA CDS platform to assist anesthesia providers with quality measure tracking and adherence. We think this is an excellent demonstration of how CDS can be integrated into existing workflows and make an impact on both patient outcomes and quality compliance activities”

The CORA platform has integrated with Draeger’s Innovian Anesthesia recording system to perform real-time, case-specific assessments of quality measure eligibility and adherence. During a procedure CORA runs in the background, continuously evaluating which quality measures apply to a case and what information needs to be captured to meet the eligible quality measures. Provides can review the results via the Quality Measure Checklist desktop widget that runs alongside the Innovian Anesthesia desktop application.

The Cognitive team will have a poster in the STA poster exhibit hall and will be participating in the “Posters in a Minute” event on January 13 where they will present their work and take questions from conference attendees.
