Cognitive Medical Systems Wins SeaPort-e Prime Contract
Cognitive Medical Systems, a specialist in standards-based clinical decision support software and healthcare IT infrastructure, announced today it has been awarded a SeaPort-e prime contract, making its products and services more readily available to the Department of Defense. Following closely on the award of a GSA Schedule, SeaPort-e is the second prime contract vehicle Cognitive has won this year.
“Cognitive is already a known and proven clinical IT solutions provider within the DoD, but this contract will streamline procurement of our services,” said Cognitive Medical Systems President and Cofounder Douglas W. Burke. “We are proud to be among the small businesses that make up 85% of SeaPort-e contract holders.”
SeaPort-e is the Navy’s electronic platform for acquiring support services in 22 functional areas including engineering, financial management, and porogram management. The Navy Systems Commands (NAVSEA, NAVAIR, SPAWAR, NAVFAC, and NAVSUP), the Office of Naval Research, Military Sealift Command, and the United States Marine Corps compete their service requirements among more than 2,400 SeaPort-e IDIQ multiple award contract holders.
The SeaPort-e portal provides a standardized, efficient means of soliciting offers from among the diverse population of large and small businesses and their approved team members. All task orders are competitively solicited, awarded, and managed using the SeaPort-e platform.
